Along with the electric mold handling line, Century Foundry has also purchased a 20x26 FBOIIIS Mold Machine, further enhancing its operations with cutting-edge technology. The integration of the SINTO SMART FOUNDRY® system completes this advanced setup, providing a comprehensive solution that will set a new standard in efficiency and performance.
Sinto’s new Electric Molding Line using FOUNDRY GRADE Sinto Servo Cylinders Features:
Transition from hydraulically actuated molding line to an electrically actuated molding line using foundry grade Sinto Servo Cylinders and linear actuators.
Unlike hydraulic cylinders, electric cylinders and linear actuators can operate without hydraulic units or piping, eliminate the risk of oil leaks while conserving energy.
Electric cylinders and linear actuators offer more precise load control and stability, resulting in better quality and fewer defects.
Coupled with SINTO SMART FOUNDRY®, operators can monitor:
Molding line performance
Molding line up time
Molding line power consumption
Other system parameters
When asked why choosing electric over hydraulic, Shane LeRoux stated, “The Servo electric line was chosen over hydraulic for numerous reasons, but my main selling point was creating a safer environment using electricity as opposed to hydraulic fluid around molten metals. The Servo line also has more precise control of movement speed and position along with quieter operations. The lower maintenance costs also are a big perk in hopes it turns into less downtime.”
At Sinto, we are committed to delivering cutting-edge technology that meets the evolving needs of our customers. The installation of the Electric Mold Handling Line at Century Foundry is expected to not only optimize their processes, improve operational efficiency and enhance overall productivity but also significantly reduce the environmental impact of the foundry and reduce energy consumption, contributing to the growing trend of sustainability in the industry.
