Light-weighting and recycling are key drivers for the next generation of automotive design and manufacture, and will be highlighted at a conference in the UK which includes sessions on the way forward for the aluminium casting industry in this key sector.
Eminent speakers from the major car makers, academics and aluminium recyclers and casters will all be focussing on the current and future trends in light-weighting and recycling at the ‘Aluminium in Automotive Conference 2011’, 28-29 September (Birmingham, UK).
Featuring chairman Prof Garel Rhys CBE, speakers from Audi, Nissan and Jaguar Land Rover, the Universities of Brunel and Birmingham and the European Aluminium Association are part of a packed programme which will mean attendees can get close to the key players, to hear what major car makers are planning and to learn more about the role of aluminium in the future of automotive development in these key areas.
Organised by the Aluminium Federation and the Aluminium Alloy Manufacturing & Recycling Association and held at Thinktank in Birmingham, the two-day conference brings together the leading people in the field to discuss the latest thinking with a specific section on casting and alloy development.
