Wanted: An investor for German foundry ERGOCAST

On March 29, 2010, the management of ERGOCAST GmbH (54584 Jünkerath, Germany, www.ergocast.de) applied for legal insolvency proceedings to be commenced. Jörg A. Wunderlich, a solicitor and resident of Trier was appointed preliminary insolvency practitioner.
With approximately 255 employees, the company is specialized on the production of sophisticated iron castings. Homogeneous material properties in combination with complex geometries are the outstanding characteristics of the products with a weight range from 1 kg to 45.000 kg. The main customers are growing markets like energy business, agriculture machines and special engineering.
Together with the preliminary insolvency practitioner, the management of ERGOCAST is keen on a solution that offers a continuation of the business, possibly through the sale of the business to an external third party.
