GKN Expands in China.

GKN Powder Metallurgy recently broke ground on a new manufacturing facility for GKN Sinter Metals in Yizheng, China. The $26 million plant will cover an area of 30,000 square meters when construction completes in 2013. It will produce small precision parts for automotive applications in engine, transmission, body and chassis, as well as a range of components for power tools and other industrial and consumer applications. Upon completion, the facility will have a capacity of 100-million components per year. Production is expected to start by the fourth quarter of 2013.
