Grede Holdings LLC, Southfield, Mich., announced this week it is adding capacity to its NovoCast ferrous casting foundry in Monterrey, Mexico, to help meet the growing demands of its automotive and heavy truck customers in the region.
The foundry will be installing a new pressure pouring system, which effectively adds 8,000 metric tons per year of capacity, a 12% increase. The capital equipment is expected to be installed by February 2014.
"Our commitment to the Mexico market remains strong as shown by the investment we are making in our NovoCast facility,” said Doug Grimm, chairman, president and CEO, Grede Holdings LLC. “Our customers are among the leaders in the region and this capacity increase allows us to support their growth projections.”
Grede Holdings LLC was formed in 2010 through the combination of assets of the former Grede Foundries, Inc., Blackhawk Foundry (USA), and Citation Corporation. With estimated annual revenues exceeding $1 billion, the company specializes in high quality ductile, gray and specialty iron castings, including lost foam and high silicon molybdenum applications. Grede Holdings LLC has 4,700 employees and operates 16 foundries and four machining operations in North America serving the transportation and industrial markets globally.
