Home demand should drive Brazil steel growth.

The outgoing president of the US-based Steel Manufacturers Association has no doubt Latin America – and Brazil in particular – will continue to play a pivotal role on the global steel stage.
The region's fast-growing economy, expanding middle class and continuing hunger for steel-intensive consumer goods make it naturally attractive for the industry, Thomas Danjczek, whose trade group represents American mini-mill producers, told Platts in an interview. Plus, he said, "God gave them great [iron] ore."
