The first pieces of equipment for Siderúrgica Latino Americana (Silat), the planned Brazilian rolling mill of Spain's Grupo Hierros Añón, started arriving in Pecém port in the country's northeastern state of Ceará, a company spokesperson told Platts.
"These shipments started arriving in September. Ten containers arrived at the port and seven have already been released," the spokesperson said, adding that the equipment is coming from Austria. These first shipments are for Silat's electro-welded mesh unit and the final parts may arrive by late-November.
