The expansion of the Indian aluminium industry was apparant at the second ALUMINIUM INDIA which closed successfully in Mumbai with a noticeable increase in visitor numbers. Altogether, 2,300 trade visitors went to the Bombay Exhibition Centre for the event (25-27 February). Compared to the first event two years ago, this represents a 35% increase. Growth was also attributable to more visitors from abroad with, among others, the Middle East strongly represented. The 108 exhibitors hailed from 18 countries.
For the next few years, the Indian aluminium industry expects a strong increase in consumption. The Indian government especially counts on the automotive sector for growth and investments. In the primary production sector, the market will also grow in the next few years: currently, Hindalco and Balco are expanding their smelting capacities on the subcontinent.
The next ALUMINIUM INDIA will take place from 10 to 12 November 2011. www.aluminium-india.com
