Automobile manufacturer Audi commissioned two Ecomelt melting furnaces from Austria's Hertwich Engineering. The two furnaces supply the newly constructed die-casting line in Münchsmünster, Germany, with 100 tons of liquid metal per day. The heating system thoroughly preheats the charge before melting, resulting in low metal losses with good metal quality. Hertwich Engineering's scope of supply included crucibles, melting tanks and a crucible charging and treatment station.
