Foundry Workshop attracts key speakers for 2014 event

Organised by Cast Metal & Diecasting Times and supported by the Foundry Equipment & Supplies Association (FESA), the 4th Foundry Workshop takes place at the home of Derby County Football Club, the IPRO Stadium, on Wednesday 25th June 2014. This specialist UK foundry industry event has again attracted an impressive group of speakers, including:
* Emeritus Professor Peter Cooke, University of Buckingham, with a paper entitled
“The evolving UK and European Automotive Industries”.
* Dr Bill Griffiths FICME, CEng, PhD (CNAA), Sheffield Hallam Lecturer, University of Birmingham, who will discuss “Defects arising during the casting of aluminium alloys”.
* Dr Ian Stone, Deputy Director, Brunel Centre for Advanced Solidification
Technology (BCAST) with a paper entitled “New approaches for casting light metals”.
*Andrew McClelland, London Metal Exchange, Business Development Officer & Training Manager, who will provide "An introduction to the LME - Price discovery for base metals".
Other speakers include representatives from Air Products, ASK Chemicals, ASMET, Cast Metals Federation, Drache, ESI, Inductotherm, Institute of Cast Metals Engineers, Metalscan, Omega and Vulcan Engineering.
Commencing at 08.45, the day features 19 papers in total, with some presentations held in parallel, enabling delegates to select the paper of their choice. A tabletop exhibition comprising 20 companies will be also held alongside the conference.
A Foundry Workshop Fish & Chips Supper takes place the evening before (Tuesday 24 June 2014) at the IPRO Stadium from 19.00 to 21.00 for £30.00 per person. Further details from anne@mmcpublications.co.uk
