One of the top global foundry industry events, Metal China 2014, will be held May 19-22 in China International Exhibition Center (new venue), Beijing. It’s expected to have 100,000 sq. m of show area with 100,000 exhibitors from more than 80 countries and regions gathering at the grand event.
Key words: Intelligent Robots

With increasing automation in the metalcasting industry, robots can perform repeated and labor-intensive work to improve productivity. At the upcoming Metal China 2014, many robot manufacturers, such as REIS Robotics, Grenzebach, ABB, Zhejiang Wanfeng, Fanuc and KUKA, will display their innovative products for molding, coremaking, feeding, cleaning and handling. REIS Robotics group will show a full automatic robot line for nonferrous gravity casting. Grenzebach, Shanghai, will display the first automatic polishing machine in China. ABB will exhibit robot software, peripheral equipment and standard components, as well as a variety of robots. Zhejiang Wanfeng, Fanuc and KUKA will exhibit automatic feeding and blanking materials robots, automatic pouring robots and polishing robots.

Key words: 3D Printing and Digital Dieless Forming

Advanced Manufacture Technology Center of China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology will showcase 28 digital dieless investment casting molding machines with national invention patents.

3D printing is changing people’s lives. Its ever-increasing application in the metalcasting industry will be demonstrated at Metal China 2014. 3D printing and digital dieless investment casting forming technology change the traditional production model. Attendees will have access to 3D printing equipment and the CAD-based model-driven casting process, which is more flexible and faster.
Advanced Manufacture Technology Center of China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology will showcase 28 digital dieless investment casting molding machines with national invention patents. The machines cut through sand directly (ceramics, graphite, resin sand, coated sand, etc.) to achieve all kinds of complex shapes in molds and cores at a cost that is one-tenth of die manufacturing.

Beijing RHX Technology Development, Co. Ltd. and Beijing North Hengli Science and Technology Co. Ltd. will exhibit 3D sand/sand core printers and various 3D laser powder sintering rapid prototyping printers, which can print out complete casting dies, sample castings and sand molds and cores in several hours, reducing the new product development cycle by 50-80%.

Key words: Environmental Friendly Equipment

Increasing the level of environmental protection is key in the metalcasting industry. Dozens of environment-friendly equipment and a series of dust removal equipment will be showcased at Metal China.

Wuxi Xizhang will exhibit a new generation pulse dust collector: A burning plastic plate dust collector that can effectively filter dust with particle size ≥0.1μm and achieve emission concentration less than 1mg/Nm3 to better reduce the emission concentration of PM2.5, while its volume is only one-third that of a traditional baghouse collector. A casting molding line, cooling oil, smoke treatment devices and mobile industrial vacuum cleaner also will be exhibited.

Key words: Functional Casting Materials Boost Energy Efficiency

At the upcoming Metal China 2014, many robot manufacturers will display their innovative products for molding, coremaking, feeding, cleaning and handling.

According to statistics, 50% of casting scrap is directly or indirectly related to casting materials. More than 100 exhibitors at Metal China will showcase various functional casting materials for targeted quality problems, including Jinan SQ Group, Suzhou Xingye, FOSECO, Bonnie Chemical (Tianjin), ASK, Elkem, HUETTENES-ALBERTUS CHEMISCHE WERKE GMBH, Shandong Kaitai Group, Zibo TAA, Chongqing Yangtze modeling material (Group), Beijing Renchuang, Shanxi Qinxin Group, Shenyang Jin’an, etc.

Key Words: Leading Enterprises Display High-end Products

At the show, leading enterprises will showcase high-end castings for energy, power, machine tools, rail vehicles, ships and other fields, as well as advanced management concepts and quality control technology.

KOCEL will showcase high precision machine tool body castings for the lost foam process; main frames of the latest models for railway lines; cylinders for F-class heavy gas turbines, supporting gearbox castings of large-scale offshore oil/gas rigs top drive systems; and ultra-supercritical condensing steam turbine castings.

Dongfeng Investment Casting Co., Ltd. will showcase sixe series and 50 products of rocker arms, leaf spring brackets, control arms, the beams in front of heavy vehicles, heavy vehicle brackets, left-front side bracket assemblies for domestic and foreign customers to provide lightweight components.

Sinosteel XTMMC, Wuhan Heavy Forging Co., Ltd., Wuxi Foundry Plant, Liaoning Fu’an Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Anhui Heli Co., Ltd., Dalian Jinhe Casting Co., Zhangjiakou Coal Mining Machinery Co., Ltd., Shenyang Research Institute of Foundry and many other well-known companies will showcase high-tech casting products.
