ArcelorMittal to Invest in Germany

Issued at 2015-03-27

ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steelmaker, will spend approximately $96.5 million this year on modernizing its four production sites in Germany. Plants in Bremen, Duisburg, Eisenhüttenstadt and Hamburg account for about 20% of the company’s European crude steel production. Projects include the conversion of the continuous casting line to a symmetric format in Duisburg and the remodeling of two strands at the steel mill in Bremen.  At the Eisenhüttenstadt site, ArcelorMittal will install a new preheating furnace at galvanizing line 1 and repair an existing blast furnace.
