Metallurgy Trade Show to occur in September

According to Abifa (Brazilian Association of Foundry Industry), Santa Catarina accounts for 80% of the cast iron produced in southern Brazil. Nationwide the state ranks in second with 26% of production. Under this prospect the 10th Metalurgia - International Fair and Congress on Technology for Foundry, Forging, Aluminum and Services will take place in Joinville, SC, from September 13 to 15, 2016.
Held biennially, the previous edition in 2014 attracted around 21,000 visitors from 17 countries, the majority (56%) operating in Forging, Automotive, Engineering and Energy segments, 20% of these comprised of both top decision-makers and Procurement staff. The event displayed more than 400 brands from 9 countries: Germany, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, China, Spain, USA, Italy and Switzerland. It is expected that the trade show has generated R$ 450 million in businesses within 18 months.
Metalurgia is promoted by Abifa and organized by Messe Brasil.
Industry scenario
Brazil holds the 7th position in the ranking of cast metal production, standing ahead of countries such as Korea, Italy and France (ABIFA). According to the Association, 59% of the national production of castings is intended for the Automotive industry by supplying Auto parts manufacturers and car, trucks, buses and tractors assemblers. The capital assets industry (16%) comes in second, followed by Others (8%), Infrastructure (7%), Railways (6%) and Mining (4%).
