The foundry industry's worst nightmare
Tweet
Get ready foundrymen for an EV world, faster than we thought possible.
I remember attending a Detroit Chapter AFS Management Night in about 1995 when the featured speaker was the head of GM's R&D. His subject: The coming of EV cars. All of us laughed him off with a stiff drink at the bar after his talk. But, it's coming. Fast. One huge emerging market -- India -- could very well skip the internal combustion engine.
So, what castings do these EV's drive? And, which ones disappear? More broadly, what's the impact on demand and generation of the electricity?
See the video at the link bellow. It´s more about oil, but my be used to the foundry and other automotive industry.
