Numbers Show Marked Improvement

Industrial Heating’s monthly economic indicators for February 2016 showed improvement over the previous two months. Three of four indices increased from January 2016, and two showed growth.
The change in the number of request for quotes was at its second-highest level since November 2014. February 2016’s index numbers reflect the changes experienced by responding companies as they compare their January 2016 business levels to their December 2015 levels.
February 2016’s index numbers:
• Change in number of request for quotes from December to January – 53.0
• Change in number of orders from December to January – 49.4
• Change in backlog from December to January – 49.2
• Expected change in the health of the industry through Feb. – 50.0
A number above 50.0 indicates increased activity or growth. A number below 50.0 indicates decreased activity or a decline in growth. Look for these numbers, along with historical values, in March 2016’sIndustrial Heating.
