100,000 tons of high-performance foundry alloys shipped globally
The supersack of Lamet® nodulariser that arrived in early December at Metal Technologies’ Auburn Casting Center in Auburn, Indiana set a new record for yearly shipments from Elkem Foundry Products. The shipment was the 100,000th ton of high-performance foundry alloys shipped by Elkem in 2015 to gray- and ductile-iron foundries worldwide.
Lamet® nodulariser is one of the specialty products – including inoculants, nodularisers, cover alloys, and pre-conditioners -- that Elkem Foundry Products produces and markets to gray- and ductile-iron foundries. This magnesium-ferrosilicon product is used at the Auburn Casting Center to efficiently produce the nodular-graphite structure needed in Metal Technologies’ ductile-iron castings.
“We value Elkem’s products and technical service and are pleased to have received the 100,000th ton that they shipped in 2015,” said John Neiger, Vice President of Purchasing at Metal Technologies, Inc. “We look forward to continuing to work with Elkem’s sales and technical team in the future.”
The receipt of the 100,000th ton of product was celebrated by Mike Riabov, Field Account Manager for Elkem Foundry Products, and the operating team at the Auburn Casting Center. To commemorate the occasion, Mr. Riabov presented the operating team with a certificate that will be placed in the Auburn Casting Center’s lobby.
