Allied Mineral Products Inc. announced the intent to purchase Alabama-based Pryor Giggey Co. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the month. Pryor Giggey manufactures monolithic refractories and precast shapes at plants in Anniston, Ala., and Chehalis, Wash.
The company serves industries including aluminum, steel, foundry and power generation. According to Allied, which plans to expand both Pryor Giggey facilities in the near future, the acquisition will allow it to be more agile in supplying customers in the Southeast and on the West Coast while providing a new global platform for Pryor Giggey products. Columbus, Ohio-based Allied also plans to ship both Allied and Pryor Giggey products from all four of its North American facilities.
