Allied Mineral Products Acquires Riverside Refractories
Tweet
Allied Mineral Products Inc., an Ohio-based global manufacturer of monolithic refractories, purchased Riverside Refractories Inc. The acquisition will allow Allied to increase its manufacturing presence in the southeast U.S., add taphole clay to its growing line of refractory products and expand its sales into the steel industry. The deal includes Riverside’s Pell City, Ala., manufacturing operation, monolithic and precast refractory shapes products, refractory coatings and mortars, and high-alumina and anhydrous taphole clay products.
Allied’s acquisition of Riverside creates opportunities to offer the Riverside product lines to a broader customer base in the U.S. and into international markets. Riverside’s domestic presence complements Allied’s existing U.S. operations and will allow the company to offer its customers more options for regionalized manufacturing and sales support.
Riverside’s production facility in Pell City joins Allied’s existing U.S. manufacturing operations in Columbus, Ohio; Brownsville, Texas; Chehalis, Wash.; and Anniston, Ala.
