Global pig iron production increases in 2023 y-o-y

According to data from the WorldSteel Association, in 2023, global pig iron output went up by 1.1% year on year to about 1.41 billion tons.
Among them, China was the top 1 pig iron-producing country, with output increasing by 0.7% year on year to 871.01 million tons. The followings were India (growing by 10.6% year on year to 135.07 million tons) and Japan (decreasing by 1.7% year on year to 63.04 million tons).
In December 2023, the global pig iron output was 106.23 million tons, decreasing by 4.9% year on year and by 4% month on month.
