From January to June 2024, China's pig iron production was 435.62 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%; The crude steel production was 530.57 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.1%; The total consumption of scrap steel in China was 122.54 million tons, an increase of 6.31 million tons or 5.4% year-on-year; The comprehensive scrap steel consumption is 230.95 kg/ton, an increase of 14 kg/ton year-on-year, an increase of 6.4%. Among them, the converter scrap steel consumption is 185.27 kg/ton, an increase of 12.6 kg/ton year-on-year, an increase of 7.3%, and the electric furnace scrap steel consumption is 650.2 kg/ton, an increase of 33.3 kg/ton year-on-year, an increase of 5.4%; Scrap steel accounted for 23.1%, an increase of 1.4 percentage points year-on-year; The ratio of electric furnace steel is 9.83%, a decrease of 0.15 percentage points year-on-year.
