According to statistics from the German Steel Federation (WV Stahl), Germany's crude steel production totaled around 3.1 million tons in July, increasing by 6.3% compared to the same month a year ago.
During the period, the production of hot-rolled steel was up by 3% to 2.6 million tons, and that of pig iron rose by 2.4% to 2.1 million tons, both on a year-on-year basis.
The WV Stahl said that many important steel processing industries and steel demand didn’t perform strongly due to concerns about economic recession, and steel volumes would remain weak this year. Economic recovery was expected to not show until next year.
